Nepal agency · Kathmandu
Four more days than the 11-day trips from Nepal, and the listing gives the reason: time to acclimatise to the high altitude as you cross the Tibetan plateau. Pickup is available in Kathmandu, and like the other Nepal-side trips this autumn, its entry route needs a check.

The listing describes a 15-day spiritual journey from Kathmandu: you trek through the remote Tibetan plateau, acclimatise to the high altitude and reach Kailash and Mansarovar. Pickup is available in Kathmandu. Fifteen days is the length most operators use for the classic loop from Lhasa, so on a trip from Nepal it buys you real spare time at altitude.
That spare time is the reason to choose it. Darchen, the base for the kora, sits at 4,670 m, and the Dolma La at about 5,630 m. A slower climb gives your body a chance to adapt before the hard day. Ask the operator to show you where the rest days fall and how many days the kora takes on this departure.
Then the caveats. The Kyirong border has been closed since the flood of 26 August 2026 (YoWangdu), so ask which way this trip enters Tibet in 2027: by flight to Lhasa, or via Simikot and Hilsa. Snow closed the Kailash kora on 26 September 2026, and departures normally restart in April or May. Indian passport holders should check that the operator can book through the pilgrim channel; the yatra guide explains why.
Pickup is available, per the listing. Bring passport copies and photos for the visa and permits.
Ask whether your departure flies to Lhasa or crosses via Simikot and Hilsa, since Kyirong is closed.
The listing promises time to acclimatise on the way. Expect long drives and short walks at each stop.
Ritual washing with lake water at the shore; full immersion has been banned since 2018.
The full kora is 53 km over three days. Ask whether your group walks all of it or turns back at Dirapuk.

Time at altitude. The listing builds in acclimatisation on the plateau, which gives your body more chance to adapt before Darchen at 4,670 m and the Dolma La at about 5,630 m.
Ask the operator. Kyirong has been closed since the 26 August 2026 flood, so 2027 departures from Kathmandu need another entry: a flight to Lhasa, or Simikot and Hilsa.
Per the itinerary. The full circuit is three days over the Dolma La; some yatras walk part of it. Confirm before you book.
The kora has been closed since 26 September 2026 because of snow. Kailash departures usually restart in April or May 2027, with June and September the best months.
