Nepal agency · Kathmandu, then Lhasa
This 10-night, 11-day yatra is listed from Kathmandu and, as its title says, runs ex-Lhasa: the road part starts in Tibet's capital, not at a Nepal land border. With Kyirong shut since August 2026, that keeps it off the flooded road.

The listing presents the trip as a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, revered in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Bon, over 10 nights and 11 days, with pickup available in Kathmandu. "Ex-Lhasa" is yatra shorthand for a trip whose road section begins in Lhasa, so the usual pattern is a flight from Kathmandu over the Himalaya, then the drive west. Ask whether that flight is part of the package or something you book yourself.
Eleven days via Lhasa is tight. The road from Lhasa to Darchen runs about 1,200 to 1,700 km depending on the route, normally four or five driving days, which leaves little slack for rest days at altitude. Ask how many days the kora takes on this departure: the full circuit is 53 km over three. If you acclimatise slowly, the 15-day loop from Lhasa or the 15-day yatra from Kathmandu give you more margin.
Two more checks. Snow closed the Kailash kora on 26 September 2026 (Explore Tibet), and departures normally resume in spring 2027. And the word yatra suggests Indian pilgrims, but Indian passports cannot use the standard Lhasa permit route: they need the pilgrim channel through approved agencies. Get the operator to confirm in writing that your passport is covered.
Pickup is available, per the listing. Kathmandu sits at about 1,400 m: your last low night for a while.
The ex-Lhasa pattern usually means the Kathmandu to Lhasa flight, a jump to 3,650 m. Take it slowly on arrival and skip alcohol.
The long road via Shigatse and Saga towards Darchen, the base for the kora at 4,670 m.
Pilgrims collect lake water for puja and ritual washing. Full immersion has been banned since 2018.
The full kora is 53 km over three days, with the Dolma La at about 5,630 m. Confirm how much of it your departure walks.

It means the road part of the trip starts in Lhasa. From Kathmandu that usually involves a flight to Lhasa first, then four or five days driving west to Darchen. Ask whether the flight is included.
The title points to Lhasa, which keeps it off the Kyirong road that a flood destroyed on 26 August 2026. Confirm the exact routing with the operator before you book.
Possibly, but check first. Indian passports go through a separate pilgrim channel with approved Nepali or Indian agencies, and many Lhasa agencies cannot book them. Our guide for Indian pilgrims explains both routes.
The kora has been closed since 26 September 2026 because of snow, and most Kailash departures restart in April or May 2027. The listing offers free cancellation, which helps if dates move.
